HOW TO MAKE A VOLCANO WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE + YEAST! (SCIENCE SUNDAY)

My oldest son has been taking homeschool Science classes at our local Children's Museum for the past month. They are all hands on (I will be posting them for the next few Science Sundays) This particular one was awesome! Volcano's!

They did 4 volcano's 4 different ways, I will post each one for the next 4 weeks. My son loved making these and some of them I have never heard of mixing these products together to cause the "volcano effect" Like this one!

Materials:
Hydrogen Peroxide
Food coloring
Yeast mixed thoroughly with water
Water bottle

Add the Hydrogen Peroxide to the bottle with the food coloring and then add the yeast, make sure the bottle is on a surface that you do not mind getting dirty because once the yeast is poured it it's fast to make the volcano!

When it was done oozing it looked like plastic on the table around the bottle.

Come back next week to see our 2nd volcano!

This looks fun. I think we will have to try it for a summer activity. I think I might try it outside though as messy as my kids can be.

I have done this with my students in the past! It's so much fun and definitely worth the mess! I cannot wait until my son is old enough to do these kinds of activities!
